Facebook Software Engineering Intern

Anyone can do this. There is nearly every resource out there, and those with experience love to help. Build upon your knowledge and skills consistently and you will have no limits in your career.

This year, I was lucky to intern with Facebook’s Growth’s User Acquisition team, which focuses on data-driven engineering and user experience to get new people from all over the world to use Facebook. My team and I help people through the first step in joining the great social network: registration.

As an Android developer, Facebook’s “Roadmap to Impact” resources helped me feel confident and gave me fundamental knowledge for my new role. Because these internships only last 12 weeks, we have a limited amount of time to make an impact. Thanks to these resources, I was able to get on board with source control, common troubleshooting practices, and the overall workflow ahead of my internship.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed and struck with nerves; RTI sent me into my internship reminding me that there is always a way to solve a problem, and that all it takes is getting back down to the basics.

To other students considering going into tech or applying for an internship at Facebook: anyone can do this. There is nearly every resource out there, and those with experience love to help. Build upon your knowledge and skills consistently and you will have no limits in your career.
