TechPrep provides resources for learners and students to learn about:

  • Programming
    • What it is, how it works, and how to get started
  • Working as a programmer
    • Benefits of programming and types of programming jobs
  • Tools they can use to learn to code
    • Personalized programming resources, including games, online courses and books, classes, internships, scholarships, local programming groups, and more

The program also provides a path for parents and supporters to:

  • Start a conversation
    • Talk to a student or child about their interest in computer programming
  • Get them learning
    • Help them join a group, find resources to learn online or in person, or talk to your school about programming opportunities
  • Help a student or child succeed
    • Understand what support options exist, how to work with a student or child as they problem solve, or even become a mentor in your community to help other children or students get started in programming

TechPrep Ambassador Program

Facebook’s internal TechPrep Ambassador Program trains people who work at Facebook to lead computer science sessions for students and children. Through this program, we connect people who work at Facebook with meaningful community engagement opportunities and help ensure that the next generation of tech innovators includes diverse perspectives and proportional representation from historically underrepresented communities.
