Empowering Managers to Build Inclusive Teams

People who manage others play a crucial role in creating inclusive team environments and culture at Facebook. Managing Inclusion is a course offered to managers at Facebook to help them understand the issues facing team members from backgrounds different than their own and build their abilities to create inclusion for every member of their teams.

During this course, participants will learn about diversity and inclusion-related strategies and tactics to:

  • Help all team members feel valued
    • Participants learn how to create a sense of belonging for all team members, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
  • Equalize bias
    • Participants examine the ways they give feedback, make decisions, and interact with team members to understand and address implicit bias.
  • Level the playing field
    • Participants build action plans that include specific steps to help create a culture of inclusion on teams at Facebook.
